EUNICE JOHNSON Obituary

Eunice L. Johnson, 87, passed away at her home on Friday, October 26, 2007.

Eunice was born in Mount Vernon on March 29, 1920, the daughter of John and Eduig Yoerger. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated in 1937 from Union High School, now known as Mount Vernon High School.

She married Mack S. Johnson of Birdsview on August 9, 1940 and except for a short time during World War II, they made their home in Mount Vernon for the 64 years of their marriage. Eunice worked in the law office of Richard Schacht, and later for Land Title Company. Because of her love of animals, she was active in 4-H and led the Stablemates for many years. A long time member of the Western Washington Regional Appaloosa Club, she earned the 'man-of-the-year' award for her many volunteer hours.

Eunice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Ron Sato of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Beth and Troy Sato of Mount Vernon; granddaughter Jana and her husband Sam Williams of Mill Creek; granddaughter Kim and her husband David Lantz of Kirkland,; son-in-law Bob Morris and his wife Jody of Issaquah, and great-grandson Miles Lantz.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mack, daughter Nancy Morris, sister Louise Olson and brother Lawrence Yoerger.

The family would like to recognize Skagit Hospice and Visiting Angels for their dedicated attention and care to Eunice during her final days.

The family requests remembrances go to the Humane Society of Skagit County, S.P.O.T. or N.O.A.H.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007, 1:30 pm at Hawthorne Memorial Park, 1825 E. college Way in Mount Vernon with a reception to follow in the Hawthorne Reception Room.

Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA.

Eunice I want to thank you from all the Johnsons, for being a BIG part of our lives, and thank Mack for helping make it possible. You fit in like a warm mitten over a ool hand. "Still Water Runs The Deepest", and in your contagious, quiet way you gave us all a deeper meaning to that four-letter word "love". We are so fortunate in having had the privelidge of sharing you. You were and are so loved - for being Eunice.
