George hired me as a gas jockey at his Mobil gas station on Westminster Way in Seattle in 1962. That property is now a park and that is fitting as a place to remember George. He and his wife treated me like a son and Lanni would bring us snacks from time to time. George was a kind man, loved his kids and his faith. We kept in touch until a few years ago. I am sorry he is gone but, I am sure both he and Lanni are with God. Blessings be upon you my good friend.

We were all blessed to have had George (and Lanni) in our lives. He was the most practical and compassionate celebrant of the sacrements that I have ever seen. And his gifts to Habitat will live on forever in the homes built for the families. Many thoughts and prayers to his family on the loss of this wonderful man and his wife who stood by his side.

To my Peterson cousins- we are so very sorry for your loss; we are grieving with you. We are also so sad that we're unable to make it over for your Dad's services and offer our sympathies to you in person. I will forever be grateful for your Dad's guidance and just his presence (as well as your Mom's)following the deaths
of my Mom, Dad and sister. I remember him gently giving Jen and I a bad time about wearing black at Dad's funeral. He said we should be wearing happier colors, since he was going home to the Lord! He was a wonderful Godly man, and you all must be so proud to have had him as your father. I know I've been so proud and blessed to have had him as an Uncle. Sending you our love and praying for all of you-that God sends you comfort and peace.

I received a call on Good Friday 2008 that someone dear to me in the Seattle area wanted to "return" to the church. I was living in Denver at the time and I knew who to call, George. He guided and supported the process and I always will be very grateful for his comittment to our faith. A good faithful and servant is going home.

I met George in 1985 when I purchased his business in Shoreline, and, being Catholic, he became somewhat of a spiritual advisor to me until he was assigned to LaConnor/Burlington. As a Deacon, George could not say Mass, but he could Baptize, Marry and preside over a funeral and he did marry my niece. He liked to say he could Hatch, Match and Dispatch. George was truly a "Man of God" and will be missed by all who knew him.

George and Lanni were dear to all in the valley. George married 2 of my children and helped to make very special days for them. His homilies meant something in today's world. He will be missed.

Time & distance keep me from attending, but I will be there in spirit, and I grieve with you all. Uncle George was a wonderful man, as Aunt Lannie was a wonderful woman. I feel blessed to have had them both in my life. I will miss Uncle George's booming voice. My love and sympathy to all my Peterson cousins.

George and Lanni were my friends, my heart friends, my ministry friends,
my confidantes. There is a void in my world knowing they're gone. We
worked together during one of the most challenging times of our ministerial lives. Ministering with George was a joy. We were both appointed as Parochial Minister (non Priest Pastor) for many years. Each of us responsible for two parishes while ministering in six. He was my mainstay, my rock. I will always love him and Lanni. Rest peacefully, dear friend. Hug Lanni for me. You left me with many wonderful memories I will always cherish.

George and Lani incarnated the value of Christian service, compassionate and caring. I can't think of a better exemplar of the diaconate than their partnership in ministry. Thanks for teaching us how to embody love in the world.
