HOWARD RATHVON Obituary
Born on January 17, 1930 to Edgar and Rosie Rathvon in Birdsview, WA. He graduated from Concrete High School, WA and after serving in the U.S. Army, he graduated from Seattle Pacific University, Seattle, WA. He then attended Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas, TX. He retired from Roadway Express, Inc. in 2000 and continued with a Christian literature ministry. He loved the Lord and the study of His Word, the Bible.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Ethel & Bill West; sisters-in-law Carolyn Rathvon (John) and Norma Rathvon (Mark).
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Lease Rathvon, Dallas, TX; three children Linda Hicks and her husband Kenneth, Red Oak, TX; David Rathvon, and his partner, David Hamdan, Dallas, TX; Deborah Meraz and her husband Michael, Ontario, CA; five grandchildren: Jacob and Christine Meraz, Ontario, CA, Kenny, Kevin, Lilli Hicks, Red Oak, TX; sisters: Dorothy Hughes (Homer) Sedro-Woolley, WA, Violet Aiken (Fred) Sedro-Woolley, WA; brothers: John Rathvon, Mount Vernon, WA; Roy Rathvon (JoAnne) Arlington, WA; Mark Rathvon, Sedro-Woolley, WA; Glen Rathvon (Jill) Arlington, WA; Dick Rathvon (MaryAnn) Longview, WA.
Special thanks to Dr. Jaime Gomez, Dr. Jorge Romero and wife Cheryl, the staff on 15th Floor Roberts Bldg., Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, The Madison on Marsh, Carrollton, TX and VNA Hospice.
A memorial celebration will be held on April 16th from 2 to 4 pm at Grace Bible Church, Dallas.
Interment will be at DFW National Cemetery.
