JAMES ALBAN Obituary
He was born on April 26, 1932 in Elma, Washington, the son of William and Marjorie (Bliss) Alban.
Jim joined the U.S. Marine Corps when he was 19 years old and served in the Korean War. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Education from Central Washington University and worked as a High School teacher, an Administrator for 29 years, and as the Vice Principal at Anacortes High School for eight years.
Jim spent the last several years of his life hunting, fishing, and building a cabin on Eliza Island, where his children and grandchildren would gather each summer.
Jim is survived by his son, Patrick Alban; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Alban and Jill Alban and Aaron Vallat; granddaughters, Jordan and Juliet Alban Vallat; grandsons, Duncan and Lucas Varela; and niece and nephew, Kelly and Kevin.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Evans Funeral Chapel in Anacortes, followed by a reception at the chapel.

Jim was a very skilled & accomplished person who was also a close personal friend. We traveled, hunted, crabbed and fished together from Mexico to South Dakota to BC Canada over the last 20 years. There was a lot to like and admire about Jim. He was a fantastic camp cook and always took things in stride. It's hard to believe he is no longer with us. He will be missed.

I roomed with Jim in 1957/58 on Lower Queen Anne in Seattle. Jim was a wonderful friend and a very special guy. Fun loving, sincere and thoughtful. I might add - a true "jock". We played ball, golf and basketball together. You will be truly missed!
