Mr. Loeb, I always appreciated how, even though you knew no French, you still helped us pull through when Mrs. Redwine was gone. I didn't know what had happened to you until my friend called me, but I didn't believe him. I knew a couple days later what happened. It seemed so unfair. You were, by far, the best substitute teacher I have ever, ever had. You will be dearly missed. I know there is a special place for you out there.
From me and all of us at HJH and who commented here - Jessica, Cameron, Ms. Dupart, Sofia, Jasmine, and me, Andy,
Thank you. R.I.P. <3

Thinking of all the Loeb family as you morn the loss of your son and brother. I remember Jesse from Catholic School when my children attended there also. Words would not express adequetely the ache that feels my heart thinking of all of you at this time. I want to focus on Jesse in heaven doing all the things he love with no pain, no tears, no sorry, only filled with joy and sending out prayers for all of us until we meet again. God bless your family and may his memories inside your hearts live on.

For many of us, Mr. Loeb was not just a substitute. He was not just a face in the crowd. Mr. Loeb was a friend. He was someone everyone enjoyed and wanted as a substitute because of his high spirit and humor. When I heard that he was not with us anymore, I was completely shaken. I felt like this was all a dream. Maybe because I was hoping it was not true, that someone would text me and tell me it was a terrible joke played. But it never happened. To me you didn't have to know Mr. Loeb well just to feel sadness and sorrow, you just had to know who he was. Mr. Loeb will be missed terribly, but he won't be forgotten.

I always considered Jesse one of the most unique people i had ever met. From day one we were instant friends. most likely because our strange thought process and dimented sence of humor were identical. i have held entire phone conversations about a random normal week laughing the whole time. you know when your cheeks hurt when you hang up. I can only explain our journey as friends as truly epic. we have seen eachother through a lot over the years, and considered eachother family. I am heartbroken for everyone who lost Jesse. I am fortunate to have had him in my life and will always hold a piece of him close to my heart. god bless.

Jesse and I were long term subs at HJH together, and was one of the few subs I would hang out with. He told me once that he associated with me because I was "professional", and that he sought to be so every day in his teaching. I will miss him and his pursuit of perfection greatly.

To the Leob family~ I worked for Summersun in the 90's...I got to see Jesse's smiling face everyday after school. His sense of humor even at a young age was way beyond his years. My favorite memory of Jesse was when I babysat him...Mrs.Loeb opened the door and had this look on her face, I was like "what?"...She said "Jesse has been marinating steaks all day and made mac n cheese for you two"...he had candles lit and kenny g playing...I was 21, he's was 12. I told him how flattered I was, and that 9 out of 10 guys my age didn't know how to impress the ladies like Jesse. He was such an amazing light, and will be missed. My heart goes out to the Loeb family~~~ thank you for sharing him with all of us.

To Jesse's family,
Jesse was a wonderful, caring man who truly loved children. My students always begged me to call him when I had to be gone. They knew he cared about them and would really teach them, not just be an adult presence in the classroom and they valued him for that. In this most difficult time, please remember what a difference he made in the lives of children. He will be greatly missed.
