JUDY LINDSTROM Obituary

July 19, 1939 - August 6, 2016

Judy Lee Lindstrom (nee Bullo), age 77 died from lung cancer on Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the care of hospice at her home in Bow.

Judy was born on July 19, 1939 in Burlington, WA to Walter Wayne Bullo and Vera Mae Bullo (nee Alwood), the oldest of their three children. Judy graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1957, and attended beauty school in Seattle after graduation.

Judy married Earl G. Lindstrom in 1961 in Anchorage, Alaska, while Earl was in the Army. They settled in Idaho for several years, and gave birth to their two children Sandra and William. They moved back to Skagit County in 1969, where they made their home for over 47 years.

Judy worked as a beautician in Seattle and Anchorage until they moved back to Washington. After that her work history was varied, including Jail Matron at the Skagit County Jail, Postmaster of the Edison Post Office, Sales Associate at Fabric Land, and finally Director of the Skagit Literacy Council.

Judy enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking. She was an accomplished seamstress, and made many of her children's clothing over the years. She was an amazing cook, and is well remembered for her delicious meals and desserts.

Judy is survived by her husband Earl, her son Bill Lindstrom of Bow, her daughter Sandie King (Bill) and her grandchildren Sarah and Casey King of Tacoma, her brother Larry Bullo of Marysville, her niece Laura Wheeler (Jason) of Marysville, and her nephew Mike Smith, of Marysville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Reverend Randall S. Bullo, her sister-in-law Betty Bullo, and her nephew Mark Smith.

She was one of the best friends I could ask for. Loved her like a sister.. She is missed and always will be. Fly with the angels my friend.

Laura certainly said it. Judy was a delight, a friend, a warrior over many things that would incapacitate others. She always had an open ear, a comforting word, a warm heart. We miss her.

Auntie,
It takes a myriad of people to raise a child, not just the parental unit. You certainly helped raise me, and were such a significant and ever-present part of my history and my narrative. You were always available, always someone that I could talk to, a cheerleader and dispenser of tough love. I feel your absence in everything I am and everything I do. Every time I see the colors purple or red, every time I eat a piece of Baklava or apple pie that isn't yours, every time I see The Velveteen Rabbit on a bookstore shelf, or think of all of our memories and funny stories-I will think of you. You had a way of connecting with people when they really needed it, and with this gift you touched so many lives. You were so loved, and you will be forever missed. My heart will never be the same. I love you, Laura
