Lee Kue Obituary

Anacortes - Please join us to celebrate the life of Lee Kue of Anacortes, WA. A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00pm, at Salem Lutheran Church, 2529 N LaVenture Rd, Mount Vernon.

Lee was born on April 20, 1939, in Norfolk, VA. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and achieved the rank of Major. He married the love of his life, Melody (Pass) Kue, in 1970. After their daughters were born, Lee retired from the Army and they moved back to Skagit Valley, where Melody had been raised. Lee worked in Accounting at Skagit Valley Hospital. As the Executive Director of the Skagit County Emergency Medical Services Council, he helped to establish the county-wide 911 system. He enjoyed service projects as a member of the Lions and Rotary Clubs in Mount Vernon for many years. After retirement, his most treasured role was becoming Papa to his three grandchildren. His memory will live on through Melody, his beloved wife of 53 years, and their daughters and their families, Beth, Jason, and Tia Anglum of Cheyenne, WY, and Kristi, Brady, Kylan, and Avery Guinn of Anacortes. They will always cherish his curiosity, love of travel, woodworking skills, and mischievous sense of humor.
