For many years, Marilyn attended our Friday Morning Women's Bible Study in Shelter Bay. She had a simple, child-like faith and trust in Jesus that was so refreshing! Of course, she often had us laughing, not taking things too seriously. But she also shared her struggles and we were inspired by her resilience and optimism. She was a dear friend and she will always hold a special place in my heart.
This is a poem that she had written and shared with us in 2014..
'I want to be free
just God and me
walking the beach
and smelling the sea.
No problems, no worries
no grief, no pain.
Just the joy of the sun
and a little bit of rain.
Would I be lonely?
Would I be blue?
Would I be bored
with nothing to do?
No-o-o!
Let me try it for a short while
then I'll go home
and smile, smile, smile!'
