ROY DUVALL Obituary
Butch was born on September 1, 1941 in Sedro-Woolley, the son of William & Gertrude (Beak) Duvall.
He was raised and attended school in Sedro-Woolley, graduating from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1959.
Butch was a longtime employee at Skagit Steel and Bendix. Being an avid fisherman and being mechanically sound, he united his passion with his welding skills in building some of the first boats (wood and aluminum) designed specifically for the Skagit River and its unique style of fishing.
Butch is survived by his children and their spouses, Duane Duvall, Dennis & Becky Duvall, David & Nora Duvall, Denise & Shane Lucker and Melena & Ron Peitersen; 2 step-sons and their spouses, James & Nicole Clark & Darrell & Mia Clark; 20 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his dog, Sheba.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers Tim & Kerry Duvall, and his wife Sue in June of 2014.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Lemley Chapel, with Life Celebrant, Linda Haddon officiating. Inurnment will follow immediately at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery, after which friends are invited to join the family in a reception at the Sedro-Woolley Eagles. Butch ran the Bendix weld shop and paved the way for me with his kindness as I went to work there as the first female. He showed confidence in me and promoted me to a more complicated position. I will always be grateful for that experience which changed my life and gave me, a single mother, future opportunities for raising my children.
