Shawn Stevens Obituary
Shawn was an extraordinary chef during his career. He loved to laugh and is remembered for his sense of humor and his kindness. He often said that he only made "Best Friends". He loved his family deeply and found the greatest pleasure in cooking for family and friends (especially his mother, Jeanette).
Shawn and his wife Cathy owned and operated several restaurants throughout their marriage, including Mad Shawn's Good Time Café, food service at the Motherlode Lodge at Hatcher Pass in Alaska and Crosswinds Restaurant.
Shawn is survived by his soulmate and wife, Cathy Stevens; mother, Jeanette Stevens; bother Bob (Tina) Stevens; sister Lynette (Will) & nieces Anna & Clara Veelman; in-laws: Cheryl Pearson, Stefan & Kandi, Mikaela; Bill & Julie Pearson, Sam, Joe & Ariel; Linda & Dale Miller, Amanda & Lindsey; and many cousins, grandnieces & nephews.
A celebration of Shawn's life will take place on Sunday, March 16, from 2-5 pm at Hillcrest Park, 1717 S. 13th, Mt. Vernon, WA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Chondrosarcoma Foundation, 12504 Quarterhorse Drive, Bowie, Md 20720

Shawn and Cathy always made me feel at home, when I would visit them. He always had delicious food prepared for us to eat.
I can remember how my mom would rave about his food, and what a "good guy" he was!
Shawn was a card to talk to, with laughter amidst our conversations. He will be greatly missed!
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Cathy, and all of the family.

*I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my cousin Cathy´s beloved husband, Shawn. Taken from us far too soon and so unexpectedly, Shawn was one of the kindest and most genuine souls I have ever known. His love of cooking, especially his mastery of grilling salmon at our summertime family gatherings, will always be cherished.
Shawn´s infectious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room, and his warmth and kindness made him truly unforgettable. He brought so much joy to those around him, and his absence will be profoundly felt.
My deepest condolences to Cathy and both families during this heartbreaking time. Please know that you are in my thoughts and heart.
