VICTOR KOCHUTEN Obituary

Victor Peter Kochuten, age 63, died April 13th 2014 in La Conner, WA. He was born on July 12th, 1950 in King Cove, AK., and was raised in the Aleutians, residing on Sanak Is and in Ikatan and False Pass.

Victor was a commercial fisherman in Alaska for many years. He moved to La Conner, WA in 1986 wherein he pursued a degree in welding. He was employed by Dakota Creek Shipyard as a welder, Timec Co. as a Maintenance worker, Pipe-fitter and Insulator at the Shell, Tesoro, and Cherry Point Refinery's in WA. Victor was a Vietnam Veteran.

Victor is survived by his wife Laura, and daughter Marina Kochuten in La Conner WA; sons: Marlon Mack, AK; Victor A. Kochuten Jr, WA; step-son: Coulby Styles (Nicole), WA; daughters: Alicia Kochuten (Tatsuro), AK; Savanna Kochuten, AK; Zara Kochuten (Jeff ), AK; grandchildren: Dustin, Leanna Mack, Tiara, James, Divinity and Anthony Kochuten, Alanna Kochuten, Mia, Mika, and Naya Mc Williams, Gabriel Kochuten, Mackenzie, Niomi Kochuten, Jaxen Garth, Sage, Nala, Veda and Serene Styles. Wilder, Lucia Clay; brothers: Richard Kochuten (Connie), AK; Raymond Kochuten (Doll), AK; sisters: Lillian Bear, AK; Anne Marie Morris (Robert), AK; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his father and mother; George Kochuten Jr. and Sophie M. Anderson; stepson, Thane Styles Clay; grandson, TJ Sole Kochuten; brothers, David Kochuten; Antone Kochuten; nephew; Antone Bear.

A public viewing was held on April 21st, 2014 under the care of Kern Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, WA. A private family gathering will take place in False Pass, Alaska at a later date.
