I enjoyed a friendship with Bill and Jennifer at the Alaska Yukon Pioneer meetings. Those actions and communications remain in our memories that we get to enjoy over and over.

Bill and my Mother, Dorothy, were married for 23 years.
My Mother passed away in 2013.
They had a wonderful life together sailing and traveling all over to visit family and friends. Bill was a great Step-Dad to my sister, Sharon Lippard (Larry), my brother, Michael Rogers (who is deceased) his wife Donna, and myself, Debra Wilbur (Scott). My sister´s children - her daughter Terry (now deceased), sons, John (Marion), and Danny (Marlena). My brother´s children - daughter Tammy, sons Michael (Andi), and Chris (Anne).
My daughter Laura (Jace).
Bill also had many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.
We had many family gatherings in Friday Harbor and Anacortes enjoying sailing, picnicking on the beach, hiking the trails around the area, visiting their friends, and enjoying time together. We all have individual memories of time with Bill that were very special. Bill and my Mom were at the hospital after my daughter was born, which was a favorite memory of mine.
We loved him very much and cherish the times we had with him. In loving memory from
Dorothy Taylor´s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bill was a wonderful person, a wonderful friend. Paul and Bill met as running buddies but went on to be so much more. We shared wonderful trips with he and Dot-to Germany, sailing around the Islands and then with Jennifer touring Oregon. Bill and Paul shared a birth date which made each upcoming birthday even more special. And when our son-in-law proposed to our daughter they asked Bill to officiete at their Baha'i wedding. T His friendship was a gift to us all. Yes, we will miss him but will continue to hold tight to the memories we shared and the knowledge we knew a truly wonderful man.

I enjoyed running with Bill in early '80s. He was a stalwart of the Running Club North before it was a club. My favorite memory is a Halloween race where the runners wore costumes. I showed up in normal running gear (it was cold) but with my two large dogs dressed in runner's garb - a hole in the shorts for the tail. Proud of my wit, I was signing up when Bill shows up with his large dog, also in running gear, with Bill dressed as a coach, whistle and all. The dogs quickly noticed each other, but when Bill saw my dogs, he did an about face and took his dogs home without running - avoiding a dog fight that would have impacted the race. Bill was a gentleman with good judgement.

I was greatly saddened by Bill's passing -- although grateful that he lived a long and satisfying life. I grew up with the Taylor family and have many fond memories of the days gone past. It was always funny because my folks were Bill and Gloria, as were the Taylors back then. My condolences to the Taylor family. Bill certainly leaves a hole in their hearts........as he does mine.
