La Conner - William Kenneth "Ken" Baker passed away peacefully at his home in La Conner, WA on November 6, 2021. He was born in Washington, DC on February 18, 1947, and raised in Camp Springs, MD. Ken graduated from Massanutten Military Academy, Woodstock, VA, and attended Concord College, Athens WV, before marrying Marcella "Marcy" Manken, his high school sweetheart.

Ken had many athletic abilities including football, baseball, tennis, and golf. At Tahoma Valley Golf Course, Ken hit a "hole-in-one" while playing with his two sons in August, 2018.

Ken worked in upper level sales management for the following corporations in the following cities: Itek Graphic Corporation in both Seattle, WA and Chicago, IL; General Binding Corporation in Chicago and Phoenix, AZ; Vulcan Binding Corporation, and Thomas Reprographics in Phoenix.

He loved our country and was a veteran in the DC Air National Guard for 6 years and served two years active duty in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Ken was a former member of Masonic Lodge 227 in Camp Springs, MD and a 32nd Degree Mason.

Ken was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and, most recently, at La Conner United Methodist Church, La Conner, WA.

He follows his parents, Hubert Luther and Thelma Jean Baker, in death. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marcella; and three children, Kenneth Baker "Ken Jr.", Russell Baker, and Jessica Baker. They have three beloved grandchildren, Natalie, Logan and Kara; and four precious great-grandchildren, Pepper, Madison, Natalie, and Aurora. Ken also leaves behind his older brother, Randall "Randy" Baker, Hughesville, MD; sister, Cheryl Jean Baker, Camp Springs, MD; and younger brother Danny Baker, Princeton, TX.

Ken will be remembered as a man who was devoted to his wife, family, his community and God. He was a man full of spirit and fun, with a kind heart and a wonderful smile. He gave a firm handshake, supportive hugs, and always tried to find a way to make people smile.

I just learned of Ken's passing. Many memories of times we shared flashed through my mind. He was a gentle, kind man who "lifted up" all who met him. Much love and many prayers to his lovely wife, Marcy, and his family.
