WILLIAM QUAM Obituary

William (Bill) James Quam was born 07/04/37 in Seattle and passed away 02/05/13 at Providence Hospital in Everett after a valiant three year battle against cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Virginia, children Vallarie Quam, Calissa (Jason) Sloane, Kalen Quam, Barbara (Michael) Alfond, Chris Vold & Ryan Vold, and grandchildren Brandon Alfond, Rachel Alfond, & Leiya Lacey, brothers Richard (Janet) Quam, Jim (Linda) Lang and sisters Anne(Arnie) Rivenes, Helen Newport, and Lois Lang.

Bill lived a full and adventurous life. Born in Seattle he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955 and attended the U.W. where he was on crew. He loved his time working Ski Patrol in the 1960s.

Through the course of his life he had many jobs including as a draftsman, a building official /inspector and public works director for the City of Bothell, and as a driver for Kenmore Premix. In retirement he worked for Paccar and Ron Sims Honda.

Bill loved watching the Mariners and Seahawks, working on cars, skiing, spending time with his family and fishing. His favorite place to fish was at Wendego Lodge where many of his family and friends have great memories with him.

Bill will be remembered most for his smiles, laughter, teasing and the love he showed his family, his very own "Brady Bunch."

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Bothell at 11:00am Saturday Feb. 9th followed by a reception at Northshore Senior Center.

Bill, you were a father figure to me. You showed me how to fish, be responsable, and showed me how to be a father myself. I really cannot belive this day came. I am so happy I was able to say goodbye to you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

This loss hurt but I know you no longer do.

We met Bill when his daughter Calissa was trying on wedding gowns in preparation for her marriage to our son Jason. His humor & gentle manner were very evident. We wish that we would have been able to get to know Bill better but we were glad that we had the chance to visit with him a couple of times at family gatherings. Our love & prayers go out to the family.

Right now I can't find the words to express how much Papa Bill meant to me. I just know that his passing leaves a huge void in my life and that I loved him dearly.
