ROXANNA ANDERSEN Obituary

ROXANNA ANDERSEN 08/19/1939 - 08/14/2025 Roxanna "Roxie" Luella (Geiger) Andersen, 85, of Hanska passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Sleepy Eye Rehabilitation Center in Sleepy Eye surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. The clergy will be Pastor David Nissen. Private burial will be held at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com. Roxanna was born on August 19, 1939, at the homestead farm in Albin Township to Robert and Josephine (Nelson) Geiger. Roxanna attended country school, St. Paul Lutheran School in Sleepy Eye and Sleepy Eye Public High School, where she graduated from in 1957. Roxanna was united in marriage to Lonnie Dale Andersen in February of 1958 and together had four children over the years, two sons and two daughters. Roxanna served many different roles in her life aside from being a wife and mother such as housewife, farmhand, retail/customer service and most recent being the secretary of Andersen Trucking of Hanska. Roxanna enjoyed several activities throughout her life, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, word searches, playing cards, thrift shopping, playing with her cat, along with visiting with many family members and friends she made along the way. She was known for her bold spirit, unwavering strength, and generous heart. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a willingness to help others, a deep love for her family, and a steadfast presence that brought comfort to all who knew her. To her family, Roxanna was more than a mother and grandmother - she was a safe place, a guiding hand, and a source of unconditional love. Her grandchildren will always remember the joy of sitting beside her at the restaurant, watching the world together from a barstool - small moments that held great meaning. She embodied love in action, never just in words, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Roxanna is survived by her children, Arlan (Alice) Andersen, LuAnn Andersen, and Janet Andersen, all of Hanska; her grandchildren, Carrie (Jeff) Brugaletta of Pleasanton, Calif., Kristi (Tim) Loose of New Ulm, Kurt (Janelle) Andersen of Lake Crystal, Kory (Danielle) Andersen of Henderson, Nev., Brandon Stage of Hanska, Sadie (Matt) Rice of Delano, Craig Blackstad of Hanska, and Morgan Blackstad of New Ulm; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rita Geiger of Lewisville; and nephew, Aaron Geiger of Lewisville. Roxanna was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Josephine Geiger; husband, Lonnie Andersen; brother, Lloyd "Butch" Geiger; son, Arnold "Arnie" Andersen; twin granddaughters; brother and sister-in-law, Reinhard and Jean Urban; mother-and father-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her warmth, strength, and laughter will be cherished forever.
