Emil Bagneschi Obituary

Emiliano ("Emil") Bagneschi passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025 in his care home surrounded by his loving family. He will be remembered for his kind heart and calm demeanor, his devotion to his family, and his many contributions to the Italian-American community.

Emil was born in Castelvecchio di Compito in Tuscany, Italy to Nello and Gina Bagneschi, and immigrated to the United States in 1952 with his family when he was 11 years old. He graduated from Burlingame High School, where he was a star baseball player, and earned an Accounting degree from San Francisco State University and an MBA from Notre Dame De Namur University in Belmont. Emil served in the Army Reserves for 5.5 years and enjoyed a prolific 34-year career as a Contract Administrator and Supervisor for the Defense Department of the federal government. Emil was also a successful realtor, and a dedicated member of the Peninsula Italian American Social Club, where he served as Secretary for seven years, and President for nine years. Emil lived the American dream, accomplishing notable success at home and in life through hard work and dedication. He was beloved among his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Emil is survived by his beautiful and devoted wife of 59 years, Iris, and his loving daughters Ivana (Jim), Carla (Tomaso), and Linda. He was an adoring Nonno to his grandchildren Gregory (Sarah), Alyssa, Christina (Ryan), Sofia, Amber, and Giacomo. He is also survived by his dear sister Lubiana (Renato), sister-in-law Julie, and many cousins as well as nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving older brother John, and dear nephew Robert.

Family and friends are invited to attend a 6 p.m. Viewing followed by a 7 p.m. Rosary on Monday, June 16 at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo. My dear Iris and family.
Since we moved away we are not in touch with the current happenings.
Please believe if we knew about Emil we would have made it to show the respect we had for him and you.
Know we care.
