Robert Datwyler Obituary

Robert J Datwyler, age 95 passed away September 9, 2025 peacefully at home.

Bob was born and raised in San Francisco where attended Commodore Sloat Grammar School, Aptos Jr. High, Lincoln High School, and City College of San Francisco City College. Bob was a Navy veteran having served his country in Korea aboard the USS ESTES from 1951-1953. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara MacInnis Datwyler June 8, 2016 after 55 years of marriage. They met July 4,1960 at King Beach, lake Tahoe and married January 14,1 961. Bob is survived by his sons Steven, Gregory, Kirk, and Grandchildren Robert and Kaylin Datwyler. He began his sales career with United Gypsum Co. for 12 years then making a change to Pacific Ready Mix until his retirement in 1998. Throughout his life he enjoyed snow skiing the Sierra's, fly fishing in the streams of California, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and waterfowl hunting in Los Banos and Canada. He was a member of sons of retirement, Foster City Rod and Gun Club and past member of Old Time Athletes Association. He enjoyed social gatherings with his friends and old classmates from grammar school and college.

The family invites friends to attend a scattering service and celebration of life on September 29, 2025 at noon, at Skylawn Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your favorite charity.
