Robert L. Simon Jr.

1944 - 2025

Robert L. Simon Jr., born in San Francisco on July 3, 1944, passed away on October 14, 2025, after a long, brave battle with cancer. He married Linda Critchley in 1968, and together they raised three sons. He is survived by his wife, Linda, three sons Greg, Brad, and Jason, three grandchildren Nate, Lauren, and Matthew, and sister Barbara.

Bob earned a BS from San Jose State and began his professional career in the pharmaceutical industry at the Stanford Research Institute, initially in the lab before transitioning to regulatory affairs. He spent many years at Bristol-Myers Squibb and OSIP, where he achieved significant success in securing approval for many drugs still used today.

His work led his family from Northern California to the Northeast, and Boulder, Colorado before ultimately returning to Northern California to retire in Sonoma, CA, where he and Linda built their dream home.

Bob had a deep love for cars, trains, old movies, and woodworking, creating numerous pieces of furniture cherished by his family. He was also passionate about science and chemistry, applying his knack for quickly learning and problem solving throughout his life.

Bob will be remembered for his quick wit and humor, seeing the brighter side of life, a profound sense of pride in everything he did, an adventurous spirit as well as his dedication and love for his family and those close to him.

There will be a celebration of his life in January.
