Ronald H. Ipsen Obituary

Ronald H. Ipsen (known affectionately as Dr. Dial tone) passed away at Sequoia Hospital on May 22, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in Berkeley, CA, to Henry and Laila Ipsen, Ron was raised in Redwood City and graduated from Sequoia High School in the Class of 1956. After graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Ron enjoyed a long successful career as a telephone technician with Ma Bell, Pacific Bell, SBC, AT&T, and the County of San Mateo. He had a passion for golfing, camping, photography, and movies - especially those with memorable soundtracks like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Known for his joke-telling and great sense of humor, Ron often reminded friends of the late comedian George Carlin.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Delphine, with whom he shared 55 years, daughters Frances Claude (John) and Vanessa, son Eric, granddaughter Madison, grandsons Brandon and Robert, nephews Carl and Jeffrey Sausedo, nephew Blake Zaccanti (Dominique), many cousins, and his cherished cat, Ninja. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Janice Sausedo.
In accordance with Ron's wishes, no services were held. He is deeply missed and forever loved by his family.
