Liza Kopp Obituary

Liza Noelle (Nicholson) Kopp, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully at age 39, on Wednesday, March 12th. She was surrounded by loved ones as her courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) ended.
Liza was a 2004 graduate of Kane Area High School, where she was the president of her class, a member of the National Honors Society, and an avid athlete. She continued on to graduate from Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Arts and Mass Communication in 2008, and in 2012 completed a Master of Education. While attending college, Liza met the love of her life, Anthony Kopp, of St. Marys. Liza and Tony married in 2010 and began to build their life together. This life revolved around their three daughters, Brooklyn, Kennedy, and Jordyn. Liza could always be found coaching or cheering for her girls during their many activities and was always their biggest fan.
One of Liza's passions in life was helping. This passion is what brought the Kopp family to Clarion, where Liza was employed at PennWest Clarion. Her time at PennWest was filled with enjoyment, as she helped students achieve their academic and career goals. Liza also spent a large portion of her career at Lock Haven University, where she was the school certifying official for miliary benefits and club advisor for the Student Veterans Alliance.
Liza is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Ann Rolfe of Kane, her uncle, Chuck Rolfe of Meadville, and her aunt, Khanne Nicholson Hubert of Kane. She is survived by her paternal Grandparents, Lynn and Hope Smith of California, her parents, Scott and Barb Nicholson of Kane, her Mother-in-law, Lucy Kopp of St. Marys, her Brother-in-law, Richard and Louisa Kopp of New Jersey and their 4 children, her brother, Ross and Doni Nicholson of Rimersburg and their 3 children, and her sister, Morgan and Tyler Prokop of Danville.
A memorial service will be held at the Kane Community Methodist Church on March 29th at 1pm, followed by a celebration of life at CJ Spirits in Kane.
The Kopp and Nicholson families would like to express their gratitude to the Kane, St. Marys, and Clarion communities for the overwhelming support and love that was given to Liza and her family over the past three years.
