Michael Gillen Obituary
He was born in St. Marys on March 1, 1947, a son of the late Andrew and Mary Rose Minnick Gillen.
Mike graduated from Elk County Christian High School, class of 1965. He served in the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, and served as an usher. Mike retired from Airco Carbon after many years of service. He was also a retired fireman with the Crystal Fire Department and a member of the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. He was also a member of a number of clubs in St. Marys. In his free time Mike enjoyed golfing and bowling.
He is survived by two special cousins, Gary Auman and his wife Barb of St. Marys and John Gillen and his wife Karen of Kersey.
Funeral Services for Michael J. Gillen will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Michael Gabler, Pastor, Officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Interment will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Family and Friends will be received at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
Memorial Contributions may be made the St. Marys Servicemen's Detail of the Crystal Fire Department.
