Dr. Donald E. Bouchard DDS

1936 - 2018

Dr. Donald E. Bouchard, DDS, 82, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018. Born on February 27, 1936, in Fort Kent, ME to the late Dr. Maxime W. Bouchard, DDS and Willihema "Wella" Deschaine Bouchard.
Dr. Bouchard attended school in Fort Kent before serving in the Maine Army National Guard and the US Army in Korea for two years. He then attended George Washington University, before going onto dental school at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. While in school he served on the U.S. Capitol Police force. Upon graduation from dental school in 1966, he set up what became a thriving dental practice in Clinton, MD where he raised his family of five children. A longtime member of this community, he was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Boy Scouts, the Knights of Columbus, the Maine State Society, and the Southern Maryland Dental Society.
He is survived by four of his children: CAPT Donald M. (Sharon) Bouchard, (USN Ret.) of Great Mills, MD; James E. Bouchard of Raleigh, NC; Rita M. (Joseph) Linnenkamp of Arnold, MD; Michelle A. Bouchard of Silver Spring, MD; his companion of many years, Thelma Rice of Somerset, PA; former wife, Carmetta Bouchard; he was blessed with 12 grandchildren that he loved dearly and was very proud of: Jessica Linnenkamp, Joseph Linnenkamp, Alexandra Bouchard, Stephen Linnenkamp, John Bouchard, Sarah Bridegum, Benjamin Linnenkamp, Patrick Bouchard, Anna Bouchard, William Bridegum, Lindsay Bridegum and Danielle Bouchard; and a brother, Carroll J. Bouchard of Fort Kent, ME. Dr. Bouchard was preceded in death his son, John P. "JP" Bouchard; his sisters, Rita Bouchard and Joan Albert and his brother, Joel H. "Jack" Bouchard.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8908 Old Branch Ave., Clinton, MD.
