Worth, TX, to Freeman and Jerrildine (Miller) Bussey on March 13, 1948. She moved to Snyder, OK where she attended school until her junior year. The family moved to Mountain View, CA in 1964. Beth graduated from Mountain View High School in 1966. She went to Foothill College for two years then completed her education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Beth moved to Sonoma in 1979. She enjoyed the friendly small-town atmosphere to raise her daughter. She was a licensed Realtor and supported the city of Sonoma in every way possible. She served on the Vintage Festival board and was co-chairman for the festival for one year. She was an accomplished pianist and sang for some time in the Sonoma Valley Chorale. Beth returned to her work in the medical field in 1992. She was with Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Rafael, California. Beth retired in 2014 as supervisor of Human Resources for Physicians and Families. She appreciated and enjoyed her time at Kaiser. Beth invested time and energy in the people she worked with. She loved her family and was a great "Nana" to her grandkids, Karissa and James. Beth is survived by her daughter, LaNaie (and her husband, Jim) Hess, of Sonoma; granddaughter, Karissa Hess, of Eugene, OR; grandson, James Hess, of Sonoma; and her mother, Jerrildine (and husband, John K.) Wright, of Mountain View, OK. Beth was preceded in death by her husband, James Kelp, and her father, Freeman Bussey. At her request, no formal services will be held. A private sea scattering will take place off the Sonoma County coast at a later date.
