Emily Hudson Obituary
July 10, 1984 - April 6, 2023
The Hudson and Tarpley families lost our Emily on April 6, 2023. She was born Emily Anne Tarpley on July 10, 1984, in Carbondale Illinois. She is survived by her husband Kirk, daughters Kallie Faith, Peyton Hope, and Dylan Elizabeth; her mother Beth Tarpley, stepfather Ed Belcher, grandparents Donna and Johnnie Sims, sisters Maggie Sims and Lucia Ruth, and her lifetime person and dearest friend, Amanda Shone. She was preceded in death by her father Kelley Sims.
Emily moved at age six from Illinois to California with her mother. Her school years were spent in Sonoma, always very much home to her and her family. She moved to Phoenix at age 19 to attend Arizona State University and reunited with her love, Kirk. Kirk and Emily both graduated from ASU and they married on December 24, 2009, and together created their beautiful family of delightful daughters.
All of these hearts still beating are broken from her loss. We struggle to find peace in this world that no longer holds her beautiful smile, enormous heart, and that crooked eyebrow that appeared whenever she was about to let loose her contagious wit. Stunned by this sudden loss of their mother, Emily's incredible heart lives on in her girls.
A celebration of Emily's life will be held at the Benziger Family Winery in Glen Ellen, CA on May 21, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please join us to honor her memory.
