James BROWNING Obituary

James Richard "Rick" Browning
Rick passed away on October 5, 2017 at Santa Rosa Memorial hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Rick was deeply cherished by his loving parents Carol and Guy Browning, who preceded him in death. Raised in Palo Alto, graduated from Gunn High School. He is survived by his beloved daughter Robin Browning and son-in-law Owen Hardisty, and her two sons Andre Alcantar and Evan Alcantar of Sonoma, his aunt Eileen Nicholson, cousins Gwen Neary and Jack Nicholson and their spouses Jim Neary and Janice Nicholson and Janet and Beth Neary of Santa Rosa, Colin Slim of Berkeley, extended Akins family in Wheatland, CA.
A teacher in Sonoma Valley High School for over two decades, Rick was beloved by families, students and fellow faculty. They loved him for who he was, and they loved him for what he contributed.
Rick will be remembered for his patience, generosity and all around hopeful outlook. The world has lost a great man, a teacher, a father, a grandad and a friend.

You will be missed Mr. Browning, I am so sorry for your loss Robin and family, he was one of my favorite teachers.

My deepest condolences to the family. Losing a loved one is painful but our God promise the we will see them again. May the words in Job 34: 14,15 give you comfort in this sorrow moment.
