Robert Molesworth Obituary
May 14, 1939 - July 7, 2023
Bob passed away July 7th, 2023, in Carson City, NV with family by his side. He was born in Oakland, CA on May 14th, 1939, but raised in Sonoma. Attended Sonoma Grammar school, St. Francis and graduated from Sonoma Valley High School, class of 1958, He then enrolled at Santa Rosa Junior College followed by his Army enlistment in 1960, serving three years in Germany. Upon his return, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and the Design Division at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. His Fire Service career started with Valley of the Moon and Shell-Vista Fire Districts as a volunteer then a paid firefighter with the Mare Island Fire Department. Retiring as a Captain in 1994.
Bob held many titles in his life, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, but his greatest was that of Grandpa. He loved nothing more than spending time with his two sons and their families. He was always there for them, cheering them on at their games, graduations or just his appreciation for a family dinner.
Being a Firefighter was one of his greatest passions dedicating 40+ years, but loved trains and finding the end of any dirt road or trail.
Bob is survived by his sons Robert III (Kate) and Ross (Julie). And grandchildren Alex, Claire, Connor, Liam and Sean.
As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Proceeded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Lillian Rose Molesworth.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters or your local Firefighters association.

What great memories I have of Bob back in the days. Such a sweetheart. One of my favorite memory is going to Little Switzerland for a fe drinks and a polka. Bob being so tall and all you could see, in a sea of people, was Bob´s head bobbing over all the polka dancers. Rest in Peace my dear friend.
