David Niemi Obituary
David worked as a lineman for the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 28 years after he returned from his service in the Navy where he worked as a construction worker "CB" building landing strips and other necessary structures. He enjoyed fishing with his son. He was a proud member of the D.A.V.
Surviving David are his son, Joseph Niemi of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters: Wilma Niemi of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Sandy Spencer of Alto, Michigan: brothers: Philip Niemi and Bill Niemi both of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and sister, Phyllis Legault.
Per his request, no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the V.F.W. Arrangements are in the care of Hovie Funeral Home.

David was my friend. He was a good guy. He could be counted on. I don't ever remember him not trying to accommodate my stupid requests. I once decided I liked his Wellington boots and he gave them to me. This was when we were in grade school. His Dad and him would pick me up for peewee hockey without fail. I was looking forward to perhaps seeing him at our next class reunion. I hope he had a good life.
