Dean Bruning Obituary

Dean Allen Bruning, age 51, of Hessel, Michigan, died on October 4, 2016, at his home. He was born on March 2, 1965, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Ernest Carl and Charlotte June (Fountain) Bruning.
Dean grew up in Cedarville and Hessel, Michigan and graduated from Cedarville High School in 1983. After graduation he worked construction for Elgie Pollard and Mike McMaken. He met Toni Cadreau in 1994 and they married in 2002. He was currently employed by Bacco Construction and was an excellent employee for the last 16 years.
Dean was a proud member of Operating Engineers #324.
Dean loved hunting, fishing, and camping. His cooking specialty was venison. He enjoyed working on the farm and pushing down trees with his tractor. Dean enjoyed sitting around the campfire while listening to the music of REO Speedwagon, Queen, and The Eagles. Dean had a wonderful laugh that family and friends will never forget.
Dean is survived by his wife, Toni Bruning of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; sons, Dakota Swinton of Olivia, Minnesota, and Saige Bruning of Hessel; step-children, Amber (Chris) Nettleton of Buffalo, New York, Joseph McGruther of Charleston, South Carolina, Casandra (Ben) Wittum of Sault Ste. Marie, and Ashley (Aaron) Sherlund of Hessel; grandchildren, Jacklyn, Garrett, Christopher, and MacKenzie; parents, Ernest and Charlotte Bruning of Cedarville; grandmother, Della Fountain of Pickford, Michigan; twin brother, Drew Bruning of Cedarville; sister, Elli Lasley of Sault Ste. Marie; nephews, Austin Bruning and Zachery Lasley; and niece, Shelby Lasley.
Dean was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Raymond Fountain and Ernest E. Bruning; grandmother, Loretta A. Bruning; and uncle, Richard Fountain.
A private family visitation was held.
Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Wendy's Runway Bar and Grill, in Hessel from 4-9 p.m.

Dean and his brother Drew were and still are my very good friends. Dean you will be Greatly missed my friend more than you could have ever realized. It is a tragedy you were deprived of continuing to do Great Things, but , I am so honored I was able to fill a small piece of who you were and I will continue to be. Within me,,, you will live my friend. See you someday buddy. To your Family, Pep, Charlotte and Drew and Elli,and Your children alike my thought and prayers will continue for you to exit this sad and painful time and start to smile once again.
