Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Piche

1934 - 2016

Lawrence ""Larry"" Joseph Piche, age 82, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away Wednesday evening, August 31, 2016 at the Hospice of the EUP – Hospice House.
Larry was born on August 26, 1934 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the late Alfred and Ina (Wertinen) Piche. He served his country in the United States Army. On April 1, 1978, he married Judy McKay at St. Mary's Church in Sault Ste. Marie. Larry enjoyed gardening and his well-kept yard always looked like a park. He also enjoyed remodeling homes and he could fix any problem that came his way. He took great pride in helping all his family members build their homes. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and would attend as many of their sporting events as possible. Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge #552, and the American Legion Post #3.
Larry is survived by his wife: Judy Piche; two daughters: Terri Piche and Lisa (Murray) Meehan both of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; three sons: Chris (Anna) Piche, Michael (Rene) Piche, and Bill (Theresa) Henderson all of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; 13 grandchildren: Erica, Justa, Kierstie, Kanton, Chelsea, Chase, Mallory, Nathan, Alyson, Madyson, Jenna, Garrett, and MacKenzie; and 5 great-grandchildren: Quintin, Morgan, Gyselle, Nash, and Noah. He is also survived by a brother: Roger Piche of DeTour, MI; a sister: Joan Atkins of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and a special brother-in-law: Joseph McKay of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
There will be a visitation held from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. At noon, that same day a funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Michael Chenier as celebrant and Deacon Bill Piche assisting. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
