Adolf Lehner Obituary

April 2, 1937 - Sept. 5, 2007
SOUTH BEND - Adolf Lehner, 70, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, in his home. Adolf was born on April 2, 1937, in Hoersching, Austria, to the late Adolf Hinterdorfer and Elizabeth Lehner. On September 27, 1974, he married the former Rebecca J. Cox, who passed away on April 5, 2007. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Erna Lehner. He is survived by two daughters, Heidi (Mitch) DeArmond of Elkhart and Erna (Charles) Acuna of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Adolf (Susanne) Lehner of Elkhart and Richard Lehner of South Bend; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Rosa (Ellsworth) Beers of Elkhart, Marianne (Adam) Guld of Hoersching, Austria, Ulrike (Franz) Guster of Linz, Austria, and Maria (Rudolf) of Vienna, Austria. Adolf was a devoted member of Emmaus Lutheran Church where he was a former member of the Board of Elders. He worked for Manchester Tank, Elkhart, for many years as the plant manager. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, in Emmaus Lutheran Church, 929 East Milton Street, South Bend, with one hour of visitation prior to the services. Pastor D. Richard Stuckwisch will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Emmaus Lutheran Church, 929 E. Milton St., South Bend, IN 46613. We knew Adolf & Becky from the Stroke Support Group. They were always joyful, and we loved to see them come to our group. We will miss them both.

I am the granddaughter of Bonnie and Don Poulson. I have great memories of going over to Becky and Adolf's house and have always remained in contact with them. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great person, and I am going to miss him! I am sorry for your loss.

I knew Adolf when we worked at Philips Ind. in the earl 70s. I knew him as a fair and just man, and I liked for that. I am very sorry for your lost, and will be praying for you for comfort and strength
