I remember many wonderful times spent during my childhood at the Dingley home in South Bend. Dr. And Mrs. Dingley were a beautiful example of being loving spouses and parents. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family, especially with Sheila in the loss of your beloved husband, and with my dear friend Diane. I know your family will support you through this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Al's passing. He was a special person who lived a positive and influential life. I can not begin to imagine the number of people he has touched. He has left us all with so many wonderful memories of the time we shared in the Adirondack Mountains. I fondly recall a visit to the stone house in Upper Jay where Al was tending his sheep. From surgeon to shepherd, always caring and compassionate.
Love, Alan

Dear Family,
On June 13, 1962 I was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend, IN with two smashed femurs. There were possibilities of an amputation of my left leg. Dr. Dingley saved that leg and worked on both over a period 2-1/2 years. He was a fantastic Doctor and I wish I had known where he was for many years. I am almost 75 now and I still wish I could talk to him. Our sympathy goes out to the family. He was a good man!

I send each of you my deepest sympathies on Dr. Dingley's passing. I had my first total knee replacement done by a horrible ortho that ruined my knee and life and I refused to return to him. Dr. Dingley was also appalled and took over all my aftercare, including therapy appts. He was so kind and compassionate and he did not have to do that, but he did. I will never ever forget his kindness and genuine love of his work. He meant more to me than I could ever tell you in words. I will miss him but think of him always. Very Sincerely

When I was a young nurse Dr. Dingley was kind, patient, and generous in sharing his knowledge of patient care. It was a kindness I have never forgotten. It was reflective of the kind and respectful person he was. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dr. Dingley treated me 29 years ago(Aug. 27th) following a horrific motorcycle accident. We spent the next year reconstructing my leg and eventually getting me walking again. Now, at the age of 56 I'm still mobile and very often remembering Dr. Dingley and our conversations. He was a positive influence toward my healing process as well as a wonderful surgeon. I'll always remember him with the utmost gratitude and respect.
Against your advice,still riding Doc.
Thank you!

Dr. Dingley was my doctor from 18 months old until 12 years old. I am 55 years old now and still remember his kindness and his ability to make me smile. He took very good care of me! I have often wondered where he moved to, and wanted to tell him thanks personally. However, I will tell you, his family now. Thank you! He was a wonderful doctor and took very good care of his patients!
