SOUTH BEND - Annie Ruth Thomas, 82, of Huey Street, South Bend, IN, passed away April 7, 2017, in Indianapolis, IN.
Annie was born April 13, 1934, in Duluth, GA, to John and Izola (Morrow) Wells, Sr., who both preceded her in death. Coming from Duluth at the age of nine, she moved to South Bend, IN. She graduated from Washington High School. She worked as a machinist for Raco for over 30 years and later worked for Meijer's for three years. She married Albert Russell Thomas and their marriage lasted over 40 years until his passing on January 11, 2000. Her passions were crossword puzzles, watching Judge Judy, and her grandchildren.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include four sons, Russell L. Thomas, Sr., of So. Bend, IN, Steven C. Thomas of Minnesota, Gregory A. (Janice) Thomas and Kevin D. Thomas, both of Indianapolis, IN; 15 grandchildren, Russell Thomas, Jr., Travis Miller, Tiffany Thomas, Camille Diggins, Ericka Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Krystal Thomas, Steven C. Thomas, Jr., Taylor Thomas, Nikki Thomas, Kristen Thomas, Joshua Thomas, Diamond Thomas, Alexandria Thomas, and her mother, Xochitl Smith and Martell Thomas; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Ross of So. Bend, IN; along with a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
