Ben Reck Obituary

Sept. 6, 1914 - Sept. 28, 2013
SOUTH BEND - Ben Reck, 99 years of age, longtime resident of Indianapolis and South Bend, passed away September 28, 2013. Ben was active with B'nai Brith in the 40's and 50's, and was an officer with the South Bend Bowling Association for over 20 years. He was a member of Congregation Beth-El Zedeck and a 20-year member of the Indianapolis Chevra Kaddisha. He is survived by his longtime companion, Eunice Goldshine, and his devoted son, Sam; his grandsons, Charles and Sean; and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew and Isaiah. His wives, Charlotte R. Reck and Bea Maltzman Reck, preceded him in death. Graveside serves will be held at Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery today at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to City of Hope. He will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him. Arrangements by Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary.

My condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Ben Reck. Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Reck as his dialysis nurse, I admired many things about him and he will be missed.

I am sorry to hear of your Dad's death. I remember him and your mother very well. I actually ran into your Dad at a bowling meeting in Indianapolis several years ago and he was very surprised to see me. He was such a nice man. Hope you and your family are well.

Sam, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's death. I remember your Dad and Charlotte fondly. For that fact I recall you and I visiting you Dad 'a auto parts yard on occasion. We have not seen each other for many years. I hope you and your family are well .
