SOUTH BEND - Constance “Connie” T. Schulz, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in her home.

Connie was born March 10, 1922, in Dowagiac, MI, as the only daughter to the late Michael and Irene Kurtis. On June 11, 1949, in South Bend, Connie married Robert Wallis, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1976. Connie was also preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Schulz; son, Michael R. Wallis; and brothers, James Kurtis, Edward Kurtis and Francis Kurtis.

Survivors include daughter, Mary (Ken) Staszewski of South Bend; brother, Raymond Kurtis of Niles, MI; granddaughters, Kathleen (Brad) Sensibaugh of Claypool, IN, and Michelle (Chris) Hodowaniec of South Bend; great-grandsons, Bryce Sensibaugh of Claypool, IN, Kyle Sensibaugh of Claypool, IN, and Trace Hodowaniec of South Bend; and great-granddaughter, Rayna Hodowaniec of South Bend.

Connie graduated from Niles High School. She worked for the South Bend Community School Corporation for 24 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Southlawn United Methodist Church and Gamma Kappa Chapter Sigma Alpha Sorority. Connie enjoyed baking and crewel embroidering. She loved to knit, crochet and read. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Visitation from 3-7 pm, Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Funeral Service is 10 am Wednesday, March 30, 2016, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
