David Lindborg Obituary

David W. Lindborg, DDS July 30, 1952 - April 15, 2015 NILES - David William Lindborg, DDS, 62, of Niles, Michigan, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, from a heart attack while working in his woods in Niles, Michigan. David was born July 30, 1952, in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident of the area. He worked as a dentist for 31 years in South Bend. David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cynthia Kay Lindborg, DDS, of Niles, Michigan; daughter, Allison Kay Lindborg Wilmot, and son-in-law, Robert Wilmot, and their daughter, Lillie Kay Wilmot of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; son, Benjamin David Lindborg, stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter, Emily Ann Lindborg Yost, and son-in-law, Kurt Yost of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; son, Thomas Daniel Lindborg of Niles, Michigan; his mother, Millicent Lindborg of South Bend, IN; and his brothers and their families: Daniel F. (wife Nancy) Lindborg of South Bend, Indiana; Richard (wife Sally) Lindborg of Francisville, Indiana; and Douglas (wife Nancy Aardema) Lindborg of Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Robert Lindborg, DDS. Dave was a very kind, gentle, strong, and devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as a respected dentist of 31 years. He loved spending time in his woods, cutting trees, mowing grass, and moving rocks with his tractors. Most important to him, though, was time spent with all of his family together. His profound pride in his wife, children, and grandchild was central to his happiness. Dave gave selflessly to all that he loved. His large circle of friends is a testament to his character and sense of humor. He would want nothing more than a hearty toast in his memory, shared amongst close family and friends (preferably a quality German beer around his basement bar). He had plans of living to 120 and had elaborate schemes for the rest of his years. While he died far too young, he died as he would have wanted - at home, in his woods. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. I am in shock to find out my dentist has passed!! I fondly called him Dr. Dave. He was the best! I remember first walking into his little office when he was across the street from the hospital and from that day we had a good patient - doctor rapport. Wow Dr. Dave I was in South Bend over the Easter holiday and I had to meet my brother and the lady I rode with to South Bend, I had her drop me off at Dr. Dave office on Angela & Michigan St. and she asked me if I know where I was at and I told her this was my former dentist and his office and I had mentioned I last saw him for my last dental appointment before I moved to Memphis TN in 2008! Wow..Im just speechless. Cindy, my condolences to the family and I know Dave is going to be missed dearly. Prayers to the family and may you find comfort in knowing that he is in a good place. Dr. Dave Im truly going to miss you and thank you for being the best dentist a girl could have. RIHP Dr Dave

I AM STILL IN SHOCK! THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THE FAMILY. DR. LINDBORG HAS BEEN MY DENTIST FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER AND MY 6 YEAR OLD JUST STARTED COMING TO HIS OFFICE 2-3 YEARS AGO. THE LAST TIME WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT, MY SON GOT IN THE CAR AND SAID, "MOM I REALLY LIKE HIM. CAN WE COME BACK AND SEE HIM SOMETIME?" THANK YOU DR. LINDBORG FOR MAKING MY SON FEEL COMFORTABLE AND WANTING TO SEE THE DENTIST.

Dear Lindborg family, I was blessed to have had Dr. Dave as my dentist for the last 26 years. He was a special kind of dentist, I came to him with a huge fear of dentists. He treated me with kid gloves! I was one of his patients who liked his clown pictures. My last visit we were joking about how he had to put them away( I guess not everyone was a fan of them).LOL My deepest sympathy are with his family & friends. God Bless you Dr. Dave.

I can't believe... He's been our family's dentist for so many years... I liked his gentle manner and humor while he was checking my teeth for cavities. My parents and siblings are all shocked and saddened. I am going to miss him as my dentist; even though I live in China, I made a point of coming back and having my teeth cleaned and checked at his place every year. The entire Cipriano Family will miss him.

For years after I moved from South Bend my parents continued to watch softball games. They always sat in right field in lawn chairs and Delbert was their favorite player. He was always very kind and spoke to them. The last time I saw Dave was at the funeral home when my Father died. A fine gentleman may he RIP.

Cindy my heart aches for you, the kids, family and friends. A great loss not only for you but for the many people he has touched throughout his years of practice. Aside from being a patient I was lucky enough to be part of the staff when Dave decided to take on a student to work in the office. It was such an honor to work along side him, Doreen, Marie, Judy, and Priscilla. It wasn't just a job, they have all become friends. Still to this day. That was more than 20 years ago. I remember asking Dave one day, what made you pick me over the other students? He looked at me with a serious look and said, "you get my sense of humor..." And for those who know Dave can understand that. :-) I am so sorry he was called home so soon. May you all find peace and comfort in keeping his memory alive and sharing all of the joy he brought to you. Rest in peace Dave

My name is Sue Seggerman, I did not have the please of being around Dave all that much but had the pleasure of talking with him at family gatherings at my daughter and son in laws house. I liked Dave right when I met him. I told him what handsome sons he had and he told me they got their looks from him!!! My granddaughter Molly is dating their son Tom who we all think the world Tom. Tom speaks very highly of his father and told all of our family what a kind caring father and husband his father was. It is tragic what happened to Dave at such a young age but I know in my heart he is with his family in spirit and always will be beside them watching down on them...RIP Dave!
