SOUTH BEND - Frances F. Chura, 90, of Dujarie House at Holy Cross Village, Notre Dame, IN (formerly of South Bend), died at 5:06 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010. She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Joe) Sassano of South Bend, IN; a son, John (Linda) Chura of Las Vegas, NV; 11 grandchildren, Joseph (Maureen) Sassano, David (Carolyn) Sassano, Jennifer (Stephen) D'Ambrosia, Jessica (Dennis) Payne, Jeff Chura, Keith (Rebecca) Chura, Paige (Scott) Carlovsky, Stacey Justvig, Greg (Sylvia) Bartholomew, Thomas Bartholomew and Dana (Jared) Egbert; 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Stephanie Ernst of Chicago, IL; and a brother, Stanley Dykes of South Bend, IN. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today, July 1, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit from 9-10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at Our Lady of Holy Cross Chapel at Dujarie House in Holy Cross Village, Notre Dame, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at St. Joseph Chapel, Holy Cross College, Notre Dame, IN, with Rev. Kenneth Grabner, C.S.C., as celebrant and Rev. Richard Conyers, C.S.C., as concelebrant. A private entombment will take place later at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
