FISH LAKE, IN - On Thursday, January 25, 2018, Mr. Gerald E. Wolff, age 73, of Walkerton, Indiana reached his eternal home, and is now resting in the arms of God.

Gerald was born December 28, 1944 to the union of Walker A. and Violet (Campbell) Wolff. On May 1, 1976, he married Betty (Whitmer) Wolff, who survives. Additional survivors include daughter, Jill Hughes of Fishers, IN; mother-in-law, Donna Whitmer of North Liberty, IN; brother-in-law, Dewey Rehlander of LaPorte; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Betz, Kathy Daughtery, and Shelby Whitmer all of North Liberty; thirteen nieces and nephews; twenty-two great-nieces and nephews, and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walker and Violet Wolff; sister, Marilyn Rehlander; brother, Walker L. Wolff; sister-in-law, Dianne Wolff; father-in-law, John Whitmer; brothers-in-law, John Whitmer, Jr. and Thomas Daugherty; and twins, great-niece and nephew, Meghan and Adam Steigely.

Gerald graduated from Mill Creek High School and went on to attend Purdue University in West Lafayette. He served his country in the United States Air Force, where he attended school, studying Russian and weather observation as an observer on Guam.

His work experience includes Fabricated Steel (Alro Steel) of South Bend, IN, Dearborn Crane of Mishawaka, IN where he held various positions, and a Real Estate Agent for the former Listen Brown Reality.

He was an active member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, where he served on the Trustee Board, Men's Group, and sang in the choir. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 400 and a Disabled American Veteran.

Gerald loved his family and extended family, and enjoyed their company so much. Playing cards, particularly euchre, fishing, and bowling were his favorite hobbies. His dog Ellie was his friend and companion.

A Celebration of Life Service will include visitation with his family TODAY, Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2:00 pm CST until 7:00 pm CST, followed by Funeral Services on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 am CST, with a time of visitation one hour prior at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services in LaPorte, IN. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, where American Legion Post 400 of Fish Lake will conduct military graveside services. Dave Peery will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the Department of Veteran Affairs, Mishawaka, IN.
