From the time we used to attend performances at the Firehouse theater a block from our house 20 years ago, Jim was a warm and welcoming presence. He encouraged my husband's, and eventually children's, involvement with Civic Theater and his enthusiasm was contagious. He will be greatly missed.

Jim was instrumental in helping me achieve my goal to get my Masters degree. For that I will always be grateful to him. I believe too that the South Bend community owes him a debt of gratitude for the successes he spearheaded with the South Bend Civic Theatre.

My prayers are with Jim's family at this time. Jim and I were roommates for three years at Our Lady Of The Lake Seminary. We both left at the same time. I'm sad to say that Jim and I never kept in touch after we left the seminary. I was drafted and went to Vietnam, and Jim went into teaching. I know that we were good friends back then and that he will be missed by all May you rest in piece my friend.
