Joseph Julius Siri, III

Aug. 28, 1953 - Feb. 25, 2016

MISHAWAKA - Joseph Julius Siri, III, age 63, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away February 25th, 2016. Joe retired from Honeywell in August of 2014 and was a member of Pipefitters Local 172. He was an accomplished body builder and won several titles nationally, including a local honor, “Mr. Saint Joseph County ,” early in his career. He was a certified scuba diver and also enjoyed river rafting, including a recent adventure on the American River in California.

Joe enjoyed life and loved to sing and dance. His favorite pastimes were dining out and going to the movies. He was a great and loyal friend characterized as “colorful, generous and caring”. He valued family gatherings and deeply loved his family and friends. Joe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

From his previous marriage to Peggy Siri Stokes, Joe is survived by two sons, Joseph “Jojo “ (Tammy) Siri, IV of Mishawaka and Anthony “Tony” (Tracy) Siri of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, Ryan, Brianne, Ricky, Zachary, Abby, Perry and Cristy; one sister, Julie Siri of Palm Springs, CA; two brothers, Larry (Wendy) Siri of Placerville, CA, and Rick Siri (Colleen) of Mishawaka; his mother, Arlene Siri Mroczek of Mishawaka; and lifelong friend, Connie Hiller.

Joe's father, Joseph “Julius” Siri II, his stepfather, Stanley Mroczek, and his beloved sister, Cathy Siri Tirotta, preceded him in death and will welcome him into heaven.

Friends are invited to a family gathering and short service from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Palmer Funeral Home- River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Center for the Homeless, 813 S. Michigan, South Bend, IN 46601. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
