SOUTH BEND - Josephine K. Block, 94, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in her residence.
Josephine was born on February 23, 1923 in South Bend to John and Mary (Keglovich) Fellinger, 3 days after arriving from Gedersdorf, Austria. She was a member of the Elks Club and Our Lady of Hungary Church. On June 17, 1944 she married William L. Block. He died on May 17, 1997. Josephine was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Funk and sister, Hermina Kuc.
Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Funk; four grandchildren, Laura (Brian) Hall, Ross (Cris) Funk, Katilyn Nusbaum, and Bessie (Nicholas) Buzzard; and two great-grandchildren, Max and Chloe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, February 12, 2018 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice. Jo was one of the sweetest and nicest neighbors anyone could ask for. She was one of the first ones to welcome us into the neighborhood.She always had a smile when she greeted you. We will miss her dearly. Our deepest condolences go out to her daughter Carol and family.

Jo was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. She took to my kids like they were her grandchildren. She came to every party, baby shower, etc. she will be greatly missed!
