SOUTH BEND - Josephine (Jo) Lucille Fetter, 73, of South Bend was taken peacefully to her eternal home, to be with her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Jo was born on March 25, 1948 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Doyle and Verla Carpenter. She graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf High School in 1966. Jo married Kenneth (Ken) James Fetter on August 4, 1967 in Lima, Ohio. Jo graduated from Vennard College in University Park, Iowa with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Christian Education in 1976, along with her husband Ken. She is survived by her husband, Pastor Ken Fetter, South Bend; her eight children, Jacqueline (Jackie) Fetter, South Bend; Lisa (Dale) Petersen, Lima, OH; Dawn (Doug) Andrews, Lima, OH; Joann Fetter, South Bend; Jamie Woltman, South Bend; Matthew Fetter, Kokomo; Ryan (Shyanne) Fetter, South Bend; Joshua (Cassie) Fetter; South Bend; eight grandchildren: Dakotah Rolfe, Hunter Rolfe, Courtney Petersen, Dylan Petersen, Kara Johnson, Isabella Johnson, Gracie Fetter, Josiah Fetter (expected birth in August); a sister, Delores Carpenter of Bluffton, OH, step-sister, Kathy (Ken) Williams of Lima, OH, step-brother, Calvin (Elizabeth) Diller of Beaverton, OR and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle Carpenter, Verla Diller, Kenneth (Kek) Diller (stepfather), in laws James and Ruth Marie Fetter.

Jo was a very active pastor's wife for over 40 years, a nurturing mother, and loving and giving grandmother (Nana). In the early 1980s, she was a secretary for the Ohio District of the Missionary Church Office. She enjoyed being an at-home child-care provider for many children in the mid 1980s to the early 1990s. Her babysitting was a ministry that resulted in many families becoming actively involved in church. She enjoyed being a Nana to her grandchildren, holding and spoiling them, working on crafts, sewing, cooking, especially for family, friends, and neighbors. Jo was an active Avon Representative for 23 years in South Bend.

A celebration of Jo's life will be at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan St. South Bend, IN on Saturday, May 8 at 11:00 am. It breaks my heart to hear of her passing.. she was such a angel herself...and was always kind to everyone, she touched so many people life's...she especially worshipped her husband Ken and family..she always was reaching out to help others and spread Gods word..I knew she was having some health issues but her smile always covered up the pain... I know the next few days and even weeks will be hard..but remember she is in heaven looking down on you.. she will be the wind on your face, the sun on your brow, the rain on your shoulders and snow blessing you when they reach you..mainly she is that angel walking with Jesus..and hurting no more..
Thank you for sharing her with me,
