Joshua David Berzai, 40, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1980 and is survived by four sons, Andrew, Matthew, Michael, and Daniel Berzai. He is also survived by his parents, Kenneth J. and Kathi M. (Weller) Berzai, a brother, Nathan (Rachel) (Olivia, Sam and Kate) Berzai, and the mother of his children, Anna Berzai.

Josh served his country in the United States Army for 16 years attaining the rank of Sergeant and was Honorably Discharged in 2019. During his military career Josh was deployed as part of the Hurricane Katrina disaster recovery effort in Mississippi. He also earned the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Marksmanship Qualification Badge. In 2013 Josh earned his Radiography Associate of Science degree from the Indiana University School of Health Science.

Josh loved his four boys deeply and spent time with them whenever he could. Fishing, backyard kickball, football and baseball were among his favorite activities with his sons. He coached Matt on the St. Matthew's Blazers football team and helped them win the city championship in 2018. Josh was also the assistant coach for the St. Jude's boys baseball team. He was very proud of Andrew's accomplishments with the Marian High School swim team, and Josh spent many hours watching and cheering on Mikey's soccer teams with Danny by his side. One of Josh's most cherished activities was spending the entire day at the Nerf War Games with his boys.

Josh will be deeply missed by his parents, family and all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial visitation will be held on March 13 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at St. Jude's Catholic Church (19704 Johnson Rd., South Bend, IN 46614) with a Funeral Mass immediately following at 1:00 pm.
