SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Joyce Chamberlain, 81, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Hospice of the Panhandle in West Virginia.
Joyce was born February 29, 1936 in South Bend, to the late Thomas and Martha (Swinsick) Kruszynski. On December 12, 1963, Joyce married the love of her life, Michael Chamberlain, who preceded her in death on March 3, 2014. Joyce was also preceded in death by brothers Richard, Robert, an Thomas Kruszynski.
Survivors of Joyce include children, Pamela (Dale) Heishman of Shepherdstown West Virginia, Dawn (Stefan) Chamberlain of Laurel Maryland, and James Solmos of Shepherdstown West Virgina; brother James Kruszynski of South Bend; grand-daughters, Amy, Angie and Candace; four great-grandchildren; and her best friend and sister-in-law, Sherry Roberson.
Joyce attended South Bend Central High School. She retired from the United States Post office as a LSM operator after 20 years of service. Joyce enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino, going out to dinner, gardening and following politics on the news. She was also an avid Notre Dame fan.
Visitation for Joyce will take place Wednesday October 4th 2017 from to 4:00pm to 6:00pm in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 10:00am Thursday October 5th 2017 in the funeral home. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
