Kathleen Tarailo Obituary

CROWN POINT - Kathleen “Kathy” Tarailo (nee Medich), age 62, of Crown Point, IN passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2016 with her loving family at her side. Kathy was a member of St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral and a past Sunday School Teacher. She was a graduate of Purdue University, earning a B.S. Degree in Speech Pathology, and serving for many years as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She was the former co-owner of Bronko's Restaurants. Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Michael Sr. and Mildred (Tumbas) Medich and her brother, Michael Medich, Jr. of South Bend. Kathy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Nick Tarailo of Crown Point; cherished daughters, Daniela Tarailo of Indianapolis, Andjela Tarailo of Kissemme, FL & Katija Tarailo of Crown Point; and many cousins, beloved Kumovi, and other family members & friends. Kathy was indeed the ‘Best Mom in the World' to her loving daughters.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016, directly at 10 AM at St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 8700 Taft St., Merrillville, with V. Rev Aleksandar Novakovic officiating. Interment in Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville. A Pomen Service will be offered at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Elijah Sunday School. In searching for history on a special person, Millie Medich, I was shocked to hear that Kathy had recently died. I was a camper at St. Sava when they both were there and I have such fond memories of all of them, but how wonderful Kathy was during that season of her life. She inherited an amazing legacy from her parents and I lost touch, living in IL but I never forgot the kindness she and Millie shared with all of us and we are forever touched by their generosity. Hello, You don't know me but I lived in the room across from Kathy for our freshman and sophomore year in college. We lost touch but I've thought of her often with great fondness over the years. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I've got 4 daughters of my own now how I would have loved to share our 'war' stories of our girls.
