Larry Richter Obituary

Larry Richter July 6, 1943 - May 18, 2014 GALIEN - Larry L. Richter, Sr., age 70, of Galien, Michigan passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, MI. His wife of 52 years, Charlotte was by his side. Larry was born July 6, 1943 in Niles, MI to Lyle and Eva (Trapp) Richter. "Big Larry" spent a lifetime farming the land he loved with the help of his family and was owner-operator of Richter Trucking. He and Charlotte (Gersonde) Richter were married September 15, 1961 in Bridgman, MI. Larry is also survived by three sons, Larry L. Richter, Jr., Brian (Dawn) Richter, and Craig (Judy) Richter, all of Galien; a brother, Jack Richter, also of Galien and sister, Bonnie Rehmel of Buchanan, MI; five grandchildren, LaKosta Richter, Larry Richter III, Cassie Marie Richter, Chevelle Richter and Camaro Richter; and three great-grandchildren, Chastity, Damien & Faith Richter; as well as many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. He was always quick to help any and all who were in need, and his special laugh will be greatly missed by his family, his many friends in the farming community and his church family. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at Portage Road General Baptist Church, 1765 Portage Road, Niles, MI, where Larry was a member. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hanson Hospice Center, 4382 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI 49127 or Portage Road General Baptist Church, 1765 Portage Road, Niles, MI 49120.
