M. Casteen-Bury Obituary
CARMEL - M. Kelly Casteen-Bury, 45, of Carmel, passed away May 19, 2008, at home. Kelly was born in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Clay High School in South Bend. Kelly swam competitively for Clay and the Michiana Marlins. She graduated from Purdue University, where she was president of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Kelly was a sales executive with Calderon Textiles until 2005. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and friend. Kelly enjoyed making her home a warm and inviting place. Her natural talent for gardening and interior design made everything she touched more beautiful. She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. Casteen Jr. in 1980, and Mary H. Casteen in 2000; and by a brother, John W. Casteen III in 1964. Kelly is survived by her husband of 22 years, Glenn A. Bury; her adored Min Pins, Ellie and Lucy; brother, James (Anne) Casteen of Huntington Beach, CA; in-laws, Albert Bury, Marilyn (Jeff) Rice and Jeanette Bury, all of Columbus, OH, John (Wendy) Bury of Keller, TX, and Ron Bury of Fishers; and six nieces and nephews. A Catholic Rite of Committal and memorial service for Kelly will be held Friday, August 29, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Cemetery. The family will gather with friends inside the Memorial Park entrance in the cemetery office at Grape and Cleveland Roads at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon celebrating Kelly's life will immediately follow the service. Dear Glenn and Jim,
I'm so sorry to learn of Kelly's passing. I've known her since elementary school, and although we lost touch over the years, I remember Kelly as a fun, happy, beautiful girl who was an amazing athlete with a great sense of humor. My favorite memory of Kelly is when we were in about 7th or 8th grade, at Clay Middle School, and she convinced me she could get tan, even in the rain. Call me gullible, but even now that memory makes me smile!
