Marilyn was a cousin, a descendant from Benjamin Rector Hieronymus, brother of my great grandfather, John Pendleton Hieronymus. We visited her and her brother in South Bend, Indiana and, later, kept in touch by mail. She was a lovely, gracious lady.

Marilyn was our neighbor and we will always think of her when we are having fires in the backyard because they always made her nervous.. RIP

Knowing Marilyn for even a brief period of time was indeed a blessing; hers was a life well lived, with plenty of adventure, kindness and grace. I always enjoyed seeing her on Sunday morning, partly because she always had a kind word for me and partly because I loved to see her colorful shoes and clothes. Seeing her in the congregation sitting with "her Jimmy" filled me with thanks. The way she walked into her house from the car, holding her cane with such flair and in such an independent way, is something I shall always remember.
