Mary Lee Obituary
June 10, 1950 - Feb. 21, 2016
SOUTH BEND - Mary Elene Lee was born June 10, 1950, to the late Lorren and Elena Steinborn in Coloma, Michigan. She departed this life on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Memorial Hospital. Mary was 65 years old.
She was a graduate of Sturgis High School. After high school she studied Business Law.
In 1984, in Dowagiac, Michigan, she married Hurie Joseph Lee.
In 1982 Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two years later she had a massive stroke which rendered her unable to carry on her normal activities. In 2014, after surviving breast cancer, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Although she had all these health issues, Mary still was full of laughter and joy.
Before her health failed her, Mary loved gardening, cooking, and dancing to all genre of music.
Surviving to cherish her memory are daughters, Robin Steinborn and Alexis (Chris) Holton, both of South Bend, Indiana; two brothers, Thomas (Ko) Steinborn of Texas and Larry Steinborn of Florida; one granddaughter, Shamari; four grandsons, Devian, Joshua, KriShawn and Charles. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive her.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Lorren, mother, Elena, and her husband, Hurie Lee.
There will be a 12 noon funeral service for Mary on Saturday, February 27, at Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 S. Michigan St.

My condolences are sent to the family. Mary was and always will be my friend. We started out as strangers and became friends.She was a good woman and a warrior. I was there with her during some of her health problems. She never complained. We had our own communication. We have laughed together, cried together . That was my girl . She will surely be missed. She is out of pain. Don't worry ... Your mom is in Heaven. Remember, Earth has no Sorrow that Heaven cannot Heal.
