Maxine Hess Obituary
BUCHANAN - Maxine Hess, 92, of Rynearson Road, Buchanan, Michigan, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, in Lakeland Hospital, Niles, MI. She was born on March 16, 1916, in Buchanan, MI, to the late Charles and Maymie Howe. She was a lifetime area resident. She was a homemaker and the former owner of Brookwood Golf Course. On June 6, 1937, in Niles, MI, she married Joseph L. Hess, who preceded her in death. Maxine is survived by her son, Roger Hess of St. Augustine, FL; a daughter, Mary Jo (Jerry) Steere of Burnsville, MN; grandchildren, Matt Steere, Jayson Steere and Angela Bell; great-grandchildren, Nickalus Bell and Anslee Bell. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI, where visitation will be held two hours prior to services. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Buchanan District Library.
