MISHAWAKA - Melissa "Missy" Lynn Ray, 43, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Missy was born on August 16, 1969 in Kankakee, IL to Alan and Barbara (Ciesiolka) Bennett. She was preceded in death by her father, Alan and her grandparents, Jim and Virginia Bennett and Curly and Bernice Ciesiolka. Surviving are her daughter, Julianna Gustafson of South Bend; son, Ian Edward Ray of Mishawaka; her mother, Barbara Jean Gustafson of South Bend; brothers, Ken Bennett of Schoolcraft, MI and Scott Bennett of Round Rock, TX; and her fiancé, Robert Edward Wallace of Mishawaka. Missy was a Manager of McDonalds in Mishawaka until 2002. She also worked for Penz Products as Assistant Manager and worked for Deli Express in Osceola. She was a Penn High School graduate; she graduated from Stafford Career College with high honors; she was a Black Belt in Tae Kwan Do, an avid expert pool player and enjoyed bowling. Missy was an avid Notre Dame fan; she was a graduate of McDonalds Hamburger University. She enjoyed ballet dancing, bike riding and long walks. Visitation is on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, with Rev. Bob Vale officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Missy and I are cousins, we are 4 years apart. As kids growing up, we were always together whether it was at her house or my house. Missy was a awesome person as we were growing up. Lost touch with her as the years went by. Missy will be sadly missed. Prayers and thoughts go out to her family.
